New Year, New Breachstorm!

Happy New Year, Breachstormers!

2023 has been a wild ride for us over at the Breachstorm team; and marks just over a year since we returned to bring the game back to gaming tables around the world!

We've been so happy with the growth of the community and the game, and are humbled to see players the world over participating in operations of their own. To further improve the experience, we've been hard at work behind the scenes on many quality-of-life improvements to the game, its components, and new formats to enjoy that you can expect to see released in the new year.

Breachstorm Patrons already have early access to playtest rules for Cyclic Ops (CyclOps for short); a fun new multiplayer mode that pits Breachstorm teams against one another in 3-4 player free-for-alls, which we expect to incorporate into the game's core rules in a future update soon.

Earlier this year we previewed some early work on Covert Ops (CoOps for short), a narrative-driven solo & cooperative mode that will push the storyline and universe of Breachstorm forward in the future. This has been a monumental undertaking, but we've made great progress on the core engine of the system as well as unique mechanics, missions, and whole campaigns against AI opponents that can be enjoyed by yourself or with a group of teammates.

Patreon supporters will get first access to the playtest documents for the CoOps mode later this month, with its full incorporation into the core rules coming with the v1.0 release.

Lastly, with an eye to improvement; we've made a lot of updates to Breachstorm's digital model library. As of now, all miniatures for the Homeworld Confederacy, Zhren'thrar Prides, and Contractors released up to this point are available for download; and we've made multiple improvements on the scale, printability, and fit to make the process of assembling your own team even easier.

So enjoy the New Year, and we'll see you on the battlefield!
